Recent revelations concerning President Joe Biden’s handling of Vice Presidential records have brought to light instances of improperly stored classified documents. The organization America First Legal shared a new photograph highlighting the numerous boxes where these records were kept inappropriately. This alarming lack of security allowed important information to be stored in vulnerable locations, including the suggestion that Hunter Biden, the President’s son, could easily access these documents.
According to Special Counsel Hur’s 345-page report, over 600 pages of classified material were recklessly kept in unsecured drawers and closets. This included folders explicitly marked “EYES ONLY VPOTUS,” which contained critical information related to national security methodologies. Hur’s report noted that Biden’s office could only be locked from the inside, raising substantial concerns over who could access these documents at any given time, especially given the significant number of visitors in and out of the office.
The situation regarding the Penn Biden Center is particularly troubling as it appears there was little to no effective security in place. Reports indicate that as of 2019, visitors could gain access to the floor where classified documents were stored without needing a key fob or security escort.
