In a recent interview with Breitbart News Daily, Kendra Todd, the season three winner of The Apprentice, defended former President Donald Trump in response to an open letter from some of her fellow contestants that criticized him. Todd characterized the letter as “old news,” pointing out that a similar letter had been written during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. She expressed disbelief at the claims made about Trump, asserting that the criticisms apply more broadly to children in educational settings rather than a leader of the free world. Todd emphasized that the ongoing criticism of Trump was stale and irrelevant, highlighting that he was an untested politician when he first ran for office.

Todd voiced particular concern over the assertion in the letter that it represented the majority opinion of their fellow contestants. She clarified that while she did not conduct a comprehensive survey of all former contestants, the way the authors presented their views could be misleading. Todd was angered not just by the content of the letter but by its implication that it captured the collective sentiment of the Apprentice family. She felt it was important to address this misrepresentation, stating that it was misleading to claim unanimous agreement among their peers in a format that suggested they had spoken to a wide array of contestants.

Moreover, Todd criticized the perception of The Apprentice as merely a business show, a point raised in the letter. She recounted the intense and challenging experiences on the show, describing it as one of the most difficult things she had ever done, even when compared to motherhood. This perspective allow her to convey the laborious effort required to compete on the show, which she believes should be honored rather than dismissed in criticism of Trump. Todd felt it was inappropriate for former contestants to use their platforms to launch personal attacks against a man who had given them their opportunities for success in the highly competitive environment of reality television.

Following her anger over the letter, Todd took action to gather support from other former contestants. Within a short timeframe, she mobilized a group of eleven individuals who shared her desire to publicly counter the letter’s claims. She reflected on how while many of them supported Trump, they had not previously come together as a collective to reassert what The Apprentice and their experiences on the show meant to them, and how they wanted their association with Trump to be remembered.

In articulating her objections, Todd and her supporters intended to reshape the narrative surrounding Trump and their shared experiences on The Apprentice. They aimed to clarify that their experiences on the show were not aligned with the negative portrayal suggested by the letter’s authors. Todd underscored the importance of their voices in countering the perceived misrepresentation and painting a more favorable and nuanced picture, one that respects their history and acknowledges Trump’s role in their careers.

Todd concluded that while personal opinions may vary among the former contestants, it was crucial to collectively assert their perspectives regarding The Apprentice and the character of Donald Trump. She emphasized the need to reject the generalization implied by the letter and present a united front that honors their shared past and individual choices as supporters or opponents in the political landscape. Ultimately, her rallying of former contestants stemmed from a desire to correct misconceptions and celebrate their experiences rather than diminish them.
