Erie International Airport is making significant efforts to celebrate the arrival of Breeze Airways with the debut of its new flight service connecting Erie, Pennsylvania, to Orlando, Florida. The inaugural flight, which is set to launch on a Wednesday, will be marked by a ceremonial welcome featuring airport staff, Erie Regional Airport Authority members, and other distinguished guests. The occasion will include a traditional water cannon salute to honor the landing of the 137-seat jet. Inside the airport, Breeze Airways has established a dedicated ticket counter and other facilities to cater to the needs of passengers using this low-cost carrier.

The newly introduced Erie-Orlando flights will operate twice a week, specifically on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Travelers can expect airlines to begin their journeys at Orlando International Airport, with departures scheduled for 2:55 PM, bringing them to Erie at 5:35 PM. Conversely, flights leaving Erie are set for 6:35 PM, allowing passengers to arrive in Orlando by 9:15 PM. This service is designed with affordability in mind, as one-way ticket prices start around $59, making air travel more accessible to a broader audience.

Airport Executive Director Derek Martin expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Breeze Airways, emphasizing that it is “the nation’s premier low-cost carrier.” Breeze has established a wide network, serving about 60 cities and operating over 200 routes, which is indicative of the airline’s commitment to expanding air travel options. The introduction of this service is expected to facilitate travel for both leisure and business passengers looking to explore Florida.

In addition to the Orlando service, Breeze Airways is set to launch another seasonal route between Erie and Tampa starting January 8. This service will also be available on a twice-weekly basis, maintaining the Wednesday and Saturday schedule used for the Orlando flights. As part of this new offering, planes will arrive in Erie at 7:01 PM, depart shortly thereafter at 7:41 PM, and ticket prices are anticipated to begin at an even lower rate of $39, making travel to Tampa a particularly attractive option for residents and visitors alike.

Breeze Airways has built a reputation around affordability and convenience, effectively tapping into the growing demand for budget-friendly travel alternatives. As the airline expands its service offerings in Erie, it not only enhances travel connectivity for the region but also promotes local tourism and economic activity. The arrival of such an airline signals a positive trend towards diversifying travel options for those in the Erie area.

Overall, the launch of Breeze Airways at Erie International Airport is a promising development that is eagerly awaited by the local community and nearby travelers. With the combination of low fares, convenient scheduling, and the support of local authorities, the new air service is expected to have a noteworthy impact on travel in and out of Erie. The anticipation surrounding these flights underscores the community’s excitement for enhanced travel accessibility and the potential for broader economic benefits as a result of increased flight options.
