This season, Ross County is hosting a series of community-centric bazaars, fairs, and marketplaces. A highlight is the Altrusa Bazaar, featuring over 50 vendors offering handmade crafts, art, and delicious homemade foods such as chicken and noodles and pies. Attendees can also enter a raffle while enjoying culinary delights from Schmidt’s Food Truck. The bazaar is set for November 9 at Unioto Elementary School, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., underscoring the vibrant local craft scene.

Following closely is the VA EA Christmas Bazaar & Vendor Show, scheduled for November 16 at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. This event offers handcrafted items from around 30 vendors. A unique feature is the opportunity to have lunch with homemade noodles and meet Santa at 1 p.m., making it a festive family-friendly outing. Simultaneously, the OUC Holiday Vendor Fair will take place on the same day at the Ohio University Chillicothe Shoemaker Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., where local vendors sell a mix of everyday and Christmas merchandise. Proceeds from vendor fees will support the local Student Nurse Organization, linking holiday shopping with a good cause.

Another noteworthy event is the Bishop Flaget Christmas Bazaar, occurring on November 23 at Bishop Flaget School. Here, shoppers will find a range of local vendors selling unique gifts and treats, with a convenient carryout option for chicken noodles. This bazaar emphasizes community support and celebrates local entrepreneurship, perfect for those looking to get their holiday shopping done while enjoying home-cooked food.

The Downtown Holiday Open House is another highlight of the season, scheduled for the weekend of November 22. Local shops will open their doors to the community to kick off the holiday festivities, coinciding with the annual tree and park lighting event presented by Shine On Chillicothe. This open house celebrates local businesses and brings together residents for festive activities, enhancing the holiday spirit in the heart of downtown Chillicothe.

As December rolls in, the Zane Trace FTO Christmas Bazaar promises an array of baked goods, beauty supplies, and engaging family activities, including the annual Santa Breakfast. This event is slated for December 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Zane Trace gymnasium and ensures a festive atmosphere filled with holiday cheer. Alongside this, the Craft Show and Cookie Walk, also on December 7, offers a delightful opportunity to shop for handmade crafts and specialty products, with an enticing cookie purchase by the pound at the First Presbyterian Church.

Lastly, the Mt. Logan Winter Bazaar will feature crafters, live music, raffles, and an opportunity for families to meet Santa, all on December 7 at the Mount Logan Learning Center. This event captures the essence of the holiday season, combining shopping, entertainment, and community gatherings. The series of events taking place in Chillicothe this winter not only offers a chance to find specialty holiday items but also cultivates a strong sense of community spirit, making it a memorable season for residents and visitors alike.
